Do you have more images available than what is in the store?

Yes simply let us know what you need.

 

I cannot find any video clips in the store where are they?

Unfortunately our online store is not yet equipped to sell video clips.  Until this feature is added please contact us directly to check availability.



Do you offer custom photography?

Yes, workload permitting.  Learn more.

What formats are store and custom images available in?

Store Images:  jpeg
Custom Images:  jpeg or tiff  (your choice)

(Images are always recorded using the 100% quality setting.)

 

What is the largest image size for custom orders?

Currently the largest size of originals is 3168 X 4752 pixels.

 

If I order custom how will I receive my files?

Download link or FTP  (fastest)
Shipped CD or DVD  (extra fees apply)



What talent is available for custom work?

This can vary considerably by project type and time of year since many models attend school.  The best thing to do is to send us a general talent description.



What language(s) do the models speak?

Most models are French speaking with very limited English.  This should be considered for video projects.



Are the images model released?

Yes

 

What can the images be used for?

The acceptable uses vary based on license type and are provided during checkout.  If your particular usage is not listed or if you have questions please contact us.



Are the images really royalty-free (RF)?

Yes, you pay only once and can reuse the images provided the license terms are followed.



Do you offer limited-use or exclusive agreements?

Yes, please contact us if this interest you.



What type of camera do you use?

We currently use a 15+ MP, Canon 50D (or better) with a high-quality lense.



What image format do you use when shooting stock?

We use the Canon RAW image format exclusively to capture the maximum detail possible.



Why do most of your images use a white background?

These are popular with graphics artists and designers because of their ease of integration.  Also we kind of like the look of it.

 

I noticed your images are rarely cropped like at other sites.  Is this intentional?

Most certainly.  If we crop an image a particular way based on artistic liking and a potential buyer doesn't share our focus we just lost a sale.  Instead, we prefer to give the customer the full palette and allow them to choose the emphasis.



Do you also do outdoor work or strictly studio?

For the last few years we have been doing mostly studio as the weather has been unfavorable.



Do you work with other backgrounds?

Yes, but we try to avoid it if possible because our lighting setup has been optimized for white.

 

Most of your images are plain with only simple use of props.  Why not add more bling?

Our images are primarily intended for illustrative purposes--to compliment your message--not upstage it.

 

Your site is named PictureYouth but I still see some older models.  Can you explain this?

Despite our focus on youth we do occasionally include some older talent to illustrate youthful vitality.
